Especially in America's deep south, individuals who never had Covid are rare. Entire families rarer still. My parents have a combined age >187...with NO Covid.
I thank Gll Mask we are healthy & alive.
Quite a good mask to use, with some disadvantages
Bought the white upgrade kit recently, to use with my regular sized Gill Mask (bought in Apr 2020). For me, the notable improvement was the silicone strap. Although the silicone strap is more rigid and less flexible than the previous spandex/nylon strap, it gives a tighter mask fit on your face. A tighter fit leads to good sealing, and hence better protection. The breathability is still acceptable for me, when I cut out surgical face masks to use with the old Gill mask and silicone strap. Though I have yet to use the P95 filter with the PRO mask, I believe the improvement will be more noticeable when done so. If you are still pondering on whether to buy the upgrade kit or not, I would suggest to buy only the silicone strap first. Getting a good mask fit should be your highest priority.
The intrinsic downside is that the mask muffles your voice greatly when in use. Its large size and heavy mass is also part of the product's downside. This is unavoidable, but your safety is more important, right?

new filter is delicate, best handled with small tweezers/forceps. Also filters do need NIOSH N95 rating. P95 sounds great but N95 preferred in a society where too many folks don't give a flying flip for public health issues. BTW silicone face seal is soft & moves down when chin moves. I guess I could learn to talk with teeth clenched. I've noticed others comment about non-pocket-ability. Right on. I've adopted hanging it around my neck until others approaching, then popping Gill up properly.
Made my old Gill a lot more useable
I bought a regular Gill mask a few months ago. I liked it, but it was a little hard to breath through and it wasn't an N95. I bought the upgrade to the pro version, and it's a lot better.
It protects me better, but it's actually a lot easier to breath through.
I like that it doesn't involve as much disposable material, but it does muffle my voice more than a disposable mask, so if I'm going out and I know I have to do a lot of talking, I still wear a disposable.
Pro upgrade is more than a 100% improvement!
I loved much about the original Gill mask but had my criticisms, as it was extremely hard to breathe in. The new filter in the pro mask completely solved the issue as it was dramatically more breathable. It shows excellence in terms of fit, filtration and breathability.
Well done and I look forward to future iterations!
